Other attractions:
Sagareshwar sanctuary has a religious, cultural and archaeological
significance also. The name is derived from an old famous Shiva temple and a
place of pilgrimage since a very long time. The temple that lies right inside the
sanctuary is not really one single temple but one large temple and a complex of
51 small temples, all from the Satvahana period. There is one more temple
called Kamal Bhairao or Kal Bhairao, located on edge along a steep cliff.
The entrance to that temple is through a narrow tunnel and the temple itself is
partially hewn out of hard basalt rock. Both these temples deserve serious
attention of the archaeologist.
